December 2024

  • 4/12/2024 – December Triples

December Update

It has been a busy month. Work on our new greens continues with weekly watering, sweeping, rolling and maintenance. B Green is now running at just over 15 secs and A Green is running at around 13.5 secs. Thanks to our grounds crew who put in many hours of work to have our greens in top conditions and ready for matches.

At this stage we will be playing the rest of our HOME Pennant matches on A Green.

Practice for the next week will be East/West on both greens. Those playing Club matches can request to play North/South if required. Contact Noel or Graeme to arrange.

Our selectors have also had a busy time organising teams. This is not an easy task, but they have successfully managed to put 7 teams on the greens each week. Often with some last minute changes. Please ensure you put your name on the unavailable list(s) as soon as you know you cannot play.

A successful December Triples was held early in month and we had a good roll up of teams. Thanks to Dan, Jean and Noel and their teams for ensuring a great day.

We have had several Barefoot Bowls and Xmas break up groups using our facilities. These have proven to be very popular. A huge THANK YOU to ERIC and Noel who has organised and run the bar for these functions. Also thanks to Barry, Susan and Ron who have assisted with some events.

The committee has also been busy behind the scenes making sure things run as smoothly as possible. Again this takes time and commitment and we thank them for their ongoing efforts.

The next 2 months are very busy with Pennant, Corporate Challenge, Australia Day and Margaret Sumner tournaments. If you are able to assist please talk to one of the organisers or committee members.

We wish everyone a Merry Christmas

and a safe and Happy New Year.
