Margaret Sumner – Invitational 4s – 2020

Friday, 21st February, 2020.

Our annual event was held in perfect conditions and attracted 24 teams from 12 clubs from around the region. Our winners this year, D. Hoggan, S. Suridge, J. Brown and R. Alderman  were from Lawn Tennis BC. Runners up were a mixed representative team, L. Gilbert, G. Vorwerk, M. Drennan and D. Gleeson. Leaders at the half way mark were a Koroit team: J. Morgan, P.Brady, M, Lenehan and A. Toleman. Special mention to the Ararat team who managed a perfect score of 8 shots in their 1st match.  It was a terrific day to recognise and celebrate Margaret Sumner’s contribution to the game of bowls, she is a wonderful ambassador  for the Terang Bowls Club and the game of lawn bowls. Thanks to  our sponsors ( Terang Post Office, Gwen and Tony Lock, Terang Community Co-op and Star Printing) and to our hard working volunteers who contributed to the running of this event. Special thanks to Jenny Meade and her team for their organisation, Jean and the catering team for providing a wonderful lunch, trifles and afternoon tea, Carol for officiating as the tournament umpire and Darren (Hendo) and the grounds committee for having the greens and grounds in excellent condition.

A raffle and lucky number draw were held on the day. A great chance to catch up with friends. Thanks to the Terang Co-op for supporting our event.
