Restrictions and guidelines – 17/9/2020

The following new directions commence at 11.59pm on Wednesday 16th September.

COVID-19 Road to Recovery Step 3

Revised Stage 3 Guidelines Summary for Clubs:

Although no written confirmation has been received, until further notice Bowls Victoria interprets the current Step 3 restrictions, and the above points, to include Bowls. Therefore the following revised Step 3 Guidelines apply.

  • Clubs must receive approval from their local council to open their Club (only if they are Council owned).
  • Members must contact their local club as to when they are open.
  • Indoor bowls facilities must remain closed, noting covered greens with open sides are not classified as indoors.
  • Shared equipment (jacks & mats) should be cleaned and disinfected before and after use.
  • Outdoor toilet facilities can be used.
  • Clubs must update all signage at the club to advise members on the new requirements. Click here to download revised Club signage.

State Government Summary of Restrictions – Move to Step 3:

  • Outdoor non-contact sport can resume for adults. Non-contact sport is any sport where you can maintain 1.5 metres between yourself and others while playing.
  • You can play sport with the number of people required to play plus necessary coaches and umpires.
  • Spectators are not allowed.
  • Outdoor sport can resume for people who are 18 years of age and younger. This includes contact sport.
  • You can play sport with the number of people required to play plus necessary coaches and umpires.
  • Spectators are allowed if they are supervising children or supporting players with additional needs, while maintain gathering limits of less than ten people.
  • Restaurants, cafes and pubs can open for predominantly outdoor dining, with limits on the number of customers.
  • Groups of customers are limited to ten people.  Businesses will be able to serve customers outdoors, with a cap of 50 seated customers per venue, and an updated ‘two square metre’ density limit in place.
  • Indoors, venues can open with a cap of ten seated customers per space – with up to two spaces per venue – and in line with the existing ‘four square metre’ density rule.
  • Tables must be spaced at least 1.5 metres apart, cleaned after every customer and the details of all customers must be kept.

Restrictions eased – 16/9/2020

Still waiting to hear about our next pennant season, but hopeful of a start towards the end of October.

Greens are available for practice, follow Covid protocols. A good turn up to yesterday’s (informal session) good to see Margaret S. on the greens along with around 15 other members.Tuesday practice at 11 a.m. has recommenced.

Excerpt from State Government Summary of Restrictions – Move to Stage 3:

Outdoor sport: only allowed to exercise, or activities such as fishing, golf, boating, tennis, surfing with one other person or household members, provided 1.5 metre distance can be maintained.
Outdoor sporting facilities: closed, except for facilities where public gathering and physical distancing limits can be adhered to and there is no use of shared equipment or communal facilities (e.g. tennis courts, golf courses).

Revised Stage 3 Guidelines Summary for Clubs:
Although no written confirmation has been received, until further notice Bowls Victoria interprets the current Stage 3 restrictions, and the above two points, to include Bowls. Therefore the following revised Stage 3 Guidelines apply.

  • Clubs must receive approval from their local council to open their Club

    Indoor bowls facilities must remain closed, noting covered greens with open sides are not classified as indoors.
  • Outdoor bowls is limited to a maximum of 2 people per rink, with a patron cap of 10 per green.
  • 5 metres must be the minimum distance maintained between each rink.
  • Shared equipment (jacks & mats) must not be shared and only handled by one person, and must be cleaned and disinfected before and after use.
  • Club houses must be closed (with the exception of toilet facilities).
  • Outdoor toilet facilities can be used.
  • Official training or club competitions cannot be held.

Both Greens are OPEN for practice and Friday Competition

We will need you all to be vigilant when you practice and to fill in the attendance sheet  and follow the list of rules:

Until further notice, a condition of using our greens is to read and comply with the following:
1. The greens are open to Terang BC members only. (date to be advised)
2. Attendance sheet to be filled out. (Located in BBQ shed)
3. No more than 10 players per green.
4. Every second rink is closed.
5. Up to 4 bowlers per rink.
6. Greens are open for practice only.
7. No spectators (with the exception of those who drove a bowler to the greens.)
8. Handle your own bowls only.
9. Social distancing & cleanliness to be observed.
