2024 – Kevin Lee Invitational 4s

28 teams competed in our Annual “Kevin Lee” Australia Day tournament.

The winners on the day were a combined Drysdale, Terang and Warrnambool team: Ash Rees, Matt Hommy, Trevor Rees and Garry Blandthorn who notched up 4 wins. Runners up were another combined team from Camperdown, Philllip Island and Terang: R Bourke, DHoffman, J Fowler and D Morrison.

A very happy winning team: G Blandthorn, M Hommy, T Rees and A Rees.

Paul Hepburn from Callaghan Motors congratulated the club on running such a successful event.

Teams and players from: Bareena, Phillip Island, Camperdown, Cobden, Dennington, Derrinallum, Drysdale, Footscray, Geelong, Mortlake, Port Fairy, Simpson, Terang, Timboon,  Warrnambool, Whycheproof, Winchelsea enjoyed competitive bowls a great lunch (including trifles).

Club President, Barry Stonehouse thanked our many volunteers and workers on the day, especially Jean and her team in the kitchen, Hendo and his grounds crew and Dan Morrison and his team for organising and running the day.

Kevin Lee – Invitational 4s – 2022

A wonderful day was enjoyed by 28 teams at the 2022 tournament. The winners on the day from Camperdown BC were: Stan Adney, Barry Atchison, Luke Wright and Len Serle.  Runners up Paul Richards, Glen Winsell, Craig Skene and Kev Conheady representing the Camperdown Golf BC.

Congratulations to the winning team and all players who competed on the day. Teams and players from: Bareena, Bribie Island, Camperdown, Cobden, Dennington, Derrinallum,  Doutta Galla, Drysdale, Footscray, Mortlake, Port Fairy, Simpson, Terang, Warrnambool, Whycheproof, Winchelsea, and Yarraville enjoyed competitive bowls a great lunch (including trifles). It was terrific to have some new bowlers and a new team from Whycheproof take part on the day.

A great day was enjoyed by 28 teams at the 2021 tournament. The winners on the day were a combined team of: Greg Supple (Eastern Park), Paul Delaney ( Mortlake), Denis Delaney (Winchelsea) and Michael Kelly ( Lara). Runners Up were: Ray Bourke ( Camperdown), Justin Staunton ( Terang), Jack Fowler (Terang) and Dan Morrison (Terang).

Report

Our annual event was held in perfect conditions and attracted 26 teams from over 12 clubs from around the region. Our winners this year were from Stawell and runners up were from Lake Bolac. It was a terrific day to recognise and celebrate Kevin Lee’s contribution to the game of bowls, he is a wonderful ambassador  for the Terang Bowls Club and the game of lawn bowls. Thanks to  our major sponsor ( Crawley’s Middle Hotel) and to our hard working volunteers who contributed to the running of this event. Special thanks to Dan and his team for their organisation, Jean and the catering team for providing a wonderful lunch, trifles and afternoon tea and Darren (Hendo) and the grounds committee for having the greens and grounds in excellent condition.
